About Anguilla
Anguilla is one of the world’s leading luxury island destination (winning coveted World Travel and other awards annually). It is a British overseas territory in the northernmost island of the Leeward Islands of the Eastern Caribbean. It is a 20-minute ferry ride north from Sint Maarten, east of Puerto Rico and now enjoys direct flights from mainland USA (Miami International Airport).
Lined with miles of white sandy beaches, Anguilla’s relaxed pace and remote island vibe allows visitors to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It truly is a Caribbean sanctuary for the soul. The island is approximately 16 miles long, from the East End to the West End, and 3 miles at its widest point.
Beaches
Anguilla has 33 spectacular and diverse beaches, including several classed as top ten in the world and the very best in the Caribbean. The closest beach to Merrivale is Rendezvous Bay Beach and it can be accessed by walking or driving East along the main road for 30 feet, make a right, and follow the road until you get to the ocean.
Adventures and Experiences
Rent an ATV for a tour around the island or hike the rocky coast and trails guided by the Anguilla National Trust. Swim, snorkel and sail through paradise with day trips, charters and activities like scuba diving, horseback riding, cocktail cruises and trips to secluded beaches.
